Football club "Bunyodkor" was formed in the summer of 2005. The team, which then was called "Kuruvchi", participated in the city championship and won the right to participate in the finals of the second League. Following the tournament, "Kuruvchi" won the right to play in the first League, and in 2006, from the first attempt, it has won this tournament.
Since 2007, the team has been playing plays in the highest League of the championship of Uzbekistan.
Several national records were set already on the first season (for example, most scored goals, less goals conceded, scored the most points in matches with recognised favourites). In addition, the attacker of "Kuruvchi" Ilkhom Mumindjanov became the best scorer of the championship.
Since August 3, 2008, the team has been performing under the name “Bunyodkor”.
For a short period of existence, the team managed to win the championship five times, four times it won the Cup of Uzbekistan, became the winner of the Super Cup, twice reached the semi-finals of the prestigious continental club tournament, the Champions League of Asia.
Today the brand “Bunyodkor” is popular not only in Asia but throughout the world.
